but, for some reason, I was looking at Stuart Scott's wiki page and this is what it had to say about his eye:

In 2002, Scott had been invited to join in the New York Jets pre-season training camp by head coach Herm Edwards. He was struck in the eye by a football that was launched from a machine during receiver drills, and had to undergo corneal surgery.

Wonder who Herm asks to come to training camp next year?
