by tailgateandwin on Oct 14, 2007 1:41 PM CDT reply actions

Im still a little nervous
One TD (they get the ball at half) and this is very, very close.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 1:42 PM CDT reply actions

Man
Shannon Sharpe congratulating Tony G on the TD record but took a snipe at him about playoff wins.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 1:43 PM CDT reply actions

Him and Emmitt Smith
could fill an instructional DVD on what NOT to say while announcing a game.  Like Emmitt openly cheering for the Cowboys last week against the Bills.  Hmm, Emmitt.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 1:44 PM CDT up reply actions

Shannon...
...is my most fated player of all time next to Romo. I still remeber Shannon jawwin DT in the 98 playoffs driving him to try and rip Shannons head off from the facemask.....DT was so docile, to get him to do that must have been some major tauntig.

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 1:47 PM CDT reply actions

Just tipped
Awful Announcing about Shannon. Make sure the blogosphere knows what a douche he is.

by Ridiculous Matt on Oct 14, 2007 1:49 PM CDT reply actions

Good
Deadspin will probably have something to say about it too.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 1:51 PM CDT up reply actions

Ohhhh
Sack! Ron Edwards almost stripped that too.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 1:51 PM CDT reply actions

Three and out
Nice to hear the announcers say that about the OTHER team.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 1:51 PM CDT reply actions

Hi
My name is Tony Gonzalez. I'm the greatest tight end ever.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 1:54 PM CDT reply actions

Hi
I'm Shannon Sharpe.  Will you teach me some tact and some English?

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 1:56 PM CDT up reply actions

whoops.
not a great run there...

they made halftime adjustments, no doubt, so we need to be doing something different.

right?

WEBB!!! new 3rd WR...

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 1:55 PM CDT reply actions

Jeff Webb
having a good game.  Maybe I spoke too soon about him.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 1:56 PM CDT reply actions

The o-line
isn't playing that much better but Huard is getting rid of the ball when he needs to.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 1:56 PM CDT reply actions

Still can't run
up the middle this game. Its a mess in there.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 1:56 PM CDT reply actions

LJ needs to understand...
he has a role as a blocker once in a while

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 1:57 PM CDT reply actions

Damn it
Another Bengal came in untouched.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 1:58 PM CDT reply actions

We can't get cocky here
The second we doubt Palmer and Co. they'll burn us.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 1:59 PM CDT reply actions

Not really
I haven't noticed him in there much.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:00 PM CDT up reply actions

If they made half time adjustments...
for our offence, I sure hope we made some adjustments to change things up a bit

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 1:59 PM CDT reply actions

Ty Law
That's alright, Page broke up the big pass play

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:01 PM CDT reply actions

page got beat...
but made up for it.

ill take it.

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 2:02 PM CDT reply actions

Nice hit by Sapp
Jared Allen is beating his man almost every time.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:03 PM CDT reply actions

Whose your MVP so far?
I'd probably go with the D-line, even with the impressive offensive showing.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:04 PM CDT reply actions

the new left tackle is doing a much better job...
and is still getting beat sometimes.

short, good.

are they going for it?

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 2:05 PM CDT reply actions

Panic time
Bengals going for it on 4th down...

Stopped! Donnie Edwards tackle! Jesus our defense is good.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:06 PM CDT reply actions

HELL YEAH!!
Huge.  Wow, inside their 40!

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:06 PM CDT reply actions

that made no sense...
only thing i can think of is trying to revitalize the offense, but still...

we have all the momentum now, lets drive down for a TD. if we score a TD here, we are looking pretty good.

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 2:07 PM CDT reply actions

So who has defensive MVP so far....
...my vote is a toss up between Allen and Edwards, but i'm still leaning Allen

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 2:07 PM CDT reply actions

Agreed
TG on the offensive side of the ball. Although their are some other guys you can make good arguments for.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:09 PM CDT up reply actions

It all starts with Allen
He is getting pressure every single time.  He does change the game

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:09 PM CDT up reply actions

This could be a sweet revenge....
on Chad johnsons guarantee of a victory a few years back when we won 9 in a row

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 2:10 PM CDT reply actions

He did the same thing this week
He said they won't lose this game and its a must win

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:11 PM CDT up reply actions

Nothing
will ever make up for that loss to me. We could beat them a 100 times by 100 points and I still would want to crush them again.

by Ridiculous Matt on Oct 14, 2007 2:13 PM CDT up reply actions

i love this new ref...
twice he has ruled with the chiefs on challenges, now he helps huard up...

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 2:11 PM CDT reply actions

Pass protection
isn't really there today. Huard has had time on a few plays but the overall play is pretty poor.

Huard could stand to get rid of the ball faster too.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:12 PM CDT reply actions

Thats what I like about....
...what we've seen with Croyle....Pocket composure, not afraid to step up in the pocket....a quick release. When he comes in, if he could settle down a bit and get his trows a bit lower, he could be awesome....

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 2:15 PM CDT up reply actions

LJ
LEARN TO FEAKIN BLOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 2:12 PM CDT reply actions

LJ has missed some blocks
But the whole line disintegrated on that last play.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:13 PM CDT up reply actions

gees damon.
if you get rid of the ball, we are still in FG range.

i still think we would be better off with croyle, but damon keeps playing just well enough not to lose his job.

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 2:12 PM CDT reply actions

Damn, outta FG range
There goes StevedebergHOFs prediction of a 50 yd FG

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:13 PM CDT reply actions

Talk about a pancake!
Tamba just walked right through their back up RT.  Think they're missing Willie Andersen

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:15 PM CDT reply actions

As long as he doesn't fumble
I don't care what he does.  You can't ask for kick back returns very often.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:19 PM CDT up reply actions

i know dante has done nothing the last two years
but still? We traded him so we could start drummond? really?

by Ridiculous Matt on Oct 14, 2007 2:23 PM CDT up reply actions

Except
that I just remember that fumble he had in Texan game.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:19 PM CDT reply actions

Bowe
showed some great acceleration on that quick out.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:21 PM CDT reply actions

Webb
Fumble. Protect the fucking ball.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:23 PM CDT reply actions

From the [Cincy Jungle www.cincyjungle.com] site:
Where's our pass protection?

Now we can't even protect Palmer. Infuriating.

Levi bitches about playing time for how long? Then he starts and gets owned. Sad.

Is Marvin Trying to be Fired.

I'm really starting to think Marvin's time is limited...

This game after an off week is dismal.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:23 PM CDT reply actions

Whoops
Messed up the link there.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:24 PM CDT up reply actions

Oh man
Just when it looks like we might be getting closer to putting this one away...

by Pauli on Oct 14, 2007 2:23 PM CDT reply actions

We're in the lead
but turnovers will destroy that lead pretty quickly.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:23 PM CDT reply actions

Slow, time consuming drives
by both teams.  We HAVE to stay two scores ahead here

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:25 PM CDT up reply actions

Gotta step up here
a turnover to touchdown could give them some life.

by Ridiculous Matt on Oct 14, 2007 2:24 PM CDT reply actions

Uggghhhh
While TG has my OF MVP today, Webb was gonna have my DarkHorse award...till now

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 2:25 PM CDT reply actions

Are we reversing it this week?
All 1st half points and no 2nd half points now

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:28 PM CDT reply actions

Chads a punk...
done nothing all day against our OLD corners and he decides to get in their face?    LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 2:29 PM CDT reply actions

Here it comes
Carson and Chad are gonna start yelling on the sidelines!

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:30 PM CDT reply actions

Yeah baby
If they haven't fallen apart yet, i'd hate to see the score after they do

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 2:31 PM CDT up reply actions

Just an FYI
South Florida is the #2 ranked team in the country.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:32 PM CDT reply actions

Chad Johnson
I think we have someone else to make fun of for having diapers on.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:33 PM CDT reply actions

ohhh yeah......
C Johnsons falling apart.....could get ugly....Gannons calling it right

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 2:34 PM CDT reply actions

LJ
was just tackle by a large dog. Look at that fucking nasty hair.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:34 PM CDT reply actions

I assume sarcasm
considering the pass blocking criticisms earlier

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:37 PM CDT up reply actions

either youre being sarcastic.....
or you're a spy here to taunt ....hehe

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 2:39 PM CDT up reply actions

In case you had not heard
Adrian Peterson is the best rookie running back ever.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:35 PM CDT reply actions

He could be
he has two TD's of at least 67 yards today.

by TXroyal on Oct 14, 2007 2:37 PM CDT up reply actions

How do we not get a 1st down there???
LJ and the o-line need to figure some shit out...

by Pauli on Oct 14, 2007 2:35 PM CDT reply actions

Agreed
We still have major issues with the o-line.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:36 PM CDT up reply actions

I would say
we still really can't run the ball consistently. LJ gets nothing or he gets 10 yards. Or breaks a big run. We can't really rely on the running game.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:39 PM CDT reply actions

Come on /chiefs
3 & out!!

Go Defense!!

You play to win the game!

by tailgateandwin on Oct 14, 2007 2:40 PM CDT reply actions

What do you think?
Think he was in, but it's going to be too close to call.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:40 PM CDT reply actions

Too close to call
The call on the field will stand.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:41 PM CDT reply actions

Look at D Bowe
immediately yelling at the refs, "One foot, one foot!"

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:43 PM CDT up reply actions

One went our way
I am glad they did that, but I would be pissed if I was a Cincy fan.  He was clearly in.

But who cares?  Come on Chiefs offense.

BTW - my husband said to me "Well, I guess they made adjustments at halftime to the offense."  I was puzzled - "we scored 20 in the first half."  He said, "No, we made adjustments to our usual offense.  3 & out."

Heh.

Nice run Larry.

You play to win the game!

by tailgateandwin on Oct 14, 2007 2:47 PM CDT up reply actions

Me too
Guess it was just too close.  "conclusive evidence", although it helped us there it's a pretty annoying thing.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:45 PM CDT up reply actions

on that last 3rd and inches...
just run the ball up the middle. the longer a running play takes to develop, the less yards we get.

we are decent when we do simple plays, we get in trouble when we start pulling guards and centers.

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 2:45 PM CDT reply actions

Wiegmann/Waters are small
I almost prefer when they pull.  But you're right, if they're simple plays, even if they do pull, looks okay.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:47 PM CDT up reply actions

we need a couple of first downs here
we dont even have to score, just to take some time off the clock and switch field position.

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 2:46 PM CDT reply actions

Exactly
keep it 2 scores apart...

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:47 PM CDT up reply actions

Nevermind
Not a first down. 8 yard gain.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:47 PM CDT reply actions

Late flag
Now, tell me, how does the referee behind the play there throw the flag and not the ref standing literally feet right in front of the play.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:49 PM CDT reply actions

obvious call...
surprised it took the back judge to call it.

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 2:49 PM CDT reply actions

Run the ball
Burn some clock time. Win the game.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:49 PM CDT reply actions

not a big deal...
he took it down to 1 second left on the play call.

we gotta get a first down here, then we are in decent FG range and can make it a 13 point game again.

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 2:51 PM CDT reply actions

OK, time for some Bowe.....
He;s the next Randy so lets start using him. Lets stop with the playing it safe an open it up

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 2:51 PM CDT reply actions

Pop
Love it when Larry winds up for a hit.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:51 PM CDT reply actions

Fuck you Shannon!
Tony Gonzalez AGAIN for a TD! Great pass by Huard!

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:52 PM CDT reply actions

Wow
Tony freaking Gonzalez.  We can do that against a lot of teams.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:52 PM CDT reply actions

great playcall
solari is better than most give him credit for...

he is getting better, he is still new at this.

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 2:52 PM CDT reply actions

Can you imagine.....
How far he;s gonna spread the rcord.....He still has a good 6 years in him.

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 2:53 PM CDT up reply actions

We're gonna beat the hell out of you!
You! you you you!  Anyone else wish they were there now?

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:53 PM CDT reply actions

LJ
I LOVE LJ sh*t talking... he's finally getting his mindset back from last year. This is a good omen for the rest of the season.

by KennyGregoryRockThaCradle on Oct 14, 2007 2:54 PM CDT reply actions

Crazy
Adrian Petersen another 35 yd td.  That's three of them along with 231 yds rushing.  Wow.  He could hit the record, honestly.  Against the Bears, no less.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:55 PM CDT reply actions

This is how we felt after the SD game.
Talking playoffs, etc.

Then after the JAX game, it was back to the same ol' Chiefs..  Now we're happy again?!  Let's get some consistency here guys!!  Go Chiefs!!

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 2:57 PM CDT reply actions

Sorry but....
Colquitt is one of the best players on team....specials can win the game.

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 3:00 PM CDT reply actions

Definitely
Field position is an underrated stat.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 3:02 PM CDT up reply actions

Woh
TD to TJ. Nice pass and again, thats what I'm afraid of.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 3:00 PM CDT reply actions

surtain just got beat...
it happens sometimes against these guys, no big deal.

but when we get the ball back, we HAVE to get a couple of first downs. if we just get one or two of them, the clock should tick down enough for us to be in really good shape.

but if we go 3-and-out they have a solid chance.

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 3:02 PM CDT reply actions

The
game is ours to win.  Let's do it, all it takes is a few first downs.

by smg49 on Oct 14, 2007 3:04 PM CDT reply actions

Nice to see you
Now is a little test for our running game. Can we manufacture first downs with it?

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 3:05 PM CDT up reply actions

Ugh, we need clock killing drive here...
...and LJ is tripping over guys for 3 yard losses.  This team is maddening.

by Pauli on Oct 14, 2007 3:05 PM CDT reply actions

Exactly
what we didn't want to do.

by smg49 on Oct 14, 2007 3:06 PM CDT reply actions

Shit LJ
Know the rules. Delay of game.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 3:06 PM CDT reply actions

LJ needs to be a leader...
spiking the ball isnt doing that.

plus it stops the clock.

crap.

our defense needs to step up.

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 3:07 PM CDT reply actions

Prediction
Bengals turn the ball over to seal the game for the Chiefs.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 3:09 PM CDT reply actions

They can nickel and dime us all day
I'm fine with getting the ball back with less than a minute left

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 3:10 PM CDT reply actions

0 for 10 on 3rd downs?
Thats whats killing the Bengals.

Just converted a 3rd down to TJ though. Lets go Chiefs! Finish them off!

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 3:10 PM CDT reply actions

Pollard, you've renewed my faith in you!
Nice call Chris, you psychic?

by custerflux on Oct 14, 2007 3:12 PM CDT reply actions

Bad pass, great play by Pollard!
Now the offense needs to finish it off for real this time.

Ugh, 0 yards and a holding penalty.  Not what I had in mind.

by Pauli on Oct 14, 2007 3:12 PM CDT reply actions

we can only self-destruct
when asked to run the clock out.

just hand it off to LJ, run it up the gut, take the 2 yard gain and take time off the clock.

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 3:13 PM CDT reply actions

2 minute warning...
good punt by colquitt, and we are in great shape.

by rockchalk on Oct 14, 2007 3:15 PM CDT reply actions

There's no reason we should still be sweating this
So many chances to put the game out of reach and we can't do it.

I agree with Bob Gretz that those last 6 plays were among the ugliest ones of the year.

by Pauli on Oct 14, 2007 3:16 PM CDT reply actions

Holding this team to 17 pts is impressive
Good game all around.  LJ finally broke out, we got the ball to TG.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 3:19 PM CDT reply actions

Assuming there is no onside
we will win.

That would be just like the Chiefs, fumbling the onside.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 3:23 PM CDT up reply actions

Safeties
Chris, we really need to do a stat analysis on Page and Pollard. They're young, but man, those guys are developing. People give them a hard time, but I think they're going to be awesome "home grown" talent.

Also, can we please ice this freaking game?!

by Ridiculous Matt on Oct 14, 2007 3:22 PM CDT reply actions

Agreed
I've been a fan and my only criticism is their inconsistency at times. A stat analysis is a good idea...

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 3:24 PM CDT up reply actions

Speaking of Page
There's the answer to your question.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 3:25 PM CDT up reply actions

No mistakes Chiefs
Only 22 seconds left but the memory of Dallas v. Buffalo last week should be fresh in everyone's minds.

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 3:23 PM CDT reply actions

Thats it
Great game!

Chiefs win! Chiefs win!

by Chris Thorman on Oct 14, 2007 3:25 PM CDT reply actions

Now we can relax...
Well, definitely some good signs and maybe things aren't as bad as they seemed last week.  Still plenty of frustrating aspects but no reason to complain about a win at this point.
